Been kicking around ideas for a signature... although I'm not that great with graphics and design in general...

Here is one I was playing with, but sort of ran out of fields to put in it...

I called it the "Perv" signature:

There are all those fields (200-300) just sitting there waiting to be used.

Think we are going to implement a user system (maybe use the one from the forums here) and let people design their own, upload backgrounds and select which fields they want to display.

It seems that people likes random pictures from the game to be put into the signature as background, might be useful to take a few snaps from popular locations and themes to spice it up.

I would like to suggest to put one more stat into deathmatch signature which is Deathmatches Win Percent - it's extremely useful stat to see!

I'm going to implement something for the signatures that will make them very customizable... don't have a timeframe on that though.

I'm also willing to make custom signatures for players/crews with dynamic content/fields and image sizes at any time.

In the Deathmatch signature, there is an issue that I haven't fixed because I don't know if it needs to be fixed.. and that is the Deathmatches Won includes the Team Deathmatches won... should the DM Won just contain non-team DM?

I can put the percentage won in parenthesis next to the won field, like (imaginary numbers):

DM Won: 50 (95.0%)
Team DM Won: 30 (72.5%)

Customizable signatures with dynamic content is definitely a great idea.

I think its fine to keep 'dm won' as an overall win stat and tdm won as is. People do significantly more tdm than ffa dm (normal).

Percentage next to stat does the job perfectly.

The percentage would only be next to "DM Won" since I have no way of finding out how many "Team DM's" someone has participated in, only how many they have won.

Also, with regards to the whole signature feature... I'd like to have the people that use the site on a regular basis use signatures versus everyone using the site for signatures... if that makes any sense.

Imo if someone wants to use only the signature they will do regardless of the content in this website. I doubt they don't mind whats happening here though.

Do you mean that if everyone were to use these custom sigs, it would take a toll on the website resources?

Most people who use stats sites seem to be casual players who might log in once in a while to the actual site (this is just my guess, I can't see data on unique visitors). So signatures are very popular (obviously), especially on forums like gtaf. This kind of feature would make sense for the average users, as sigs serve many purposes. You might have seen that a newly formed stat site implemented custom sigs with snapmatic backgrounds. I don't know how but literally tons of people got obsessed with it. And that's like the only thing even remotely good about that site. I think you'd see a good traffic increase if you were able to do something similar and given that gtaonlinestats is already at the top in terms of features, it would further boost your site.

Having animated gif in the background sourced from any user created videos on youtube or even r* clips created by any gif maker platform (surely there are dozens of them out there on the web) would suppress any sort of competition set by that site.

As an addition, statistics of total deathmatches, races etc played as a whole crew would lift this site even further.

Nah, that came out totally wrong... anyway, it was taking a toll on the resources a while back until I rewrote the whole signature serving code and now the server handles it quite well.

Don't see any reason why animated signatures would be an issue... converting a youtube clip to an animated gif would probably pose more of an issue, so people would have to bring their own animated gif.

I've done some work on the crew stats (nothing to show yet) and seems like there is quite a bit of data to bring forth.
